Unwrapping magical numbers for a stable future
Under Control was conceived in response to the frustration Henrique and Pedro experienced when dealing with automated machines that were never correctly profiled due to the “there is no time for this” attitude. This approach usually has led to suboptimal performance and, in many cases, excessive time spent tuning controllers. Not rarely, such controllers have put the system near the “getting out of control” situation (the famous non-convergence).
They have taken the mission themselves to bring light to those numbers that govern the systems used daily by all sorts of companies. Under Control relies on modern techniques to estimate not only parameters, but also the model structure of the system being analyzed. But the mission is only complete if model information is used, and Under Control offers the complete solution by offering custom-tailored control laws. Leveraging control techniques that handle real-world practical constraints like energy consumption or actuator excursion limitation.
Summing up, Under Control was created to uncover the numbers of the machines that build our world, and make them work efficiently!
Henrique Pereira, PhD
Henrique is a seasoned, specialized professional in Control Systems, Automation, and Applied Electronics. His extensive academic background includes a Ph.D. from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology, with research at TUHH in Germany. He possesses deep expertise in Model Predictive Control, Hybrid Systems, and Sampled-Data Filtering. Henrique leverages his experience in both academia and industrial automation, including work at Vallourec, to model, analyze, and implement dynamic systems. He emphasizes clarity, ethics, and effective communication when collaborating, believing in empathetic knowledge sharing. Excelling in team settings, he values open dialogue and innovative results. He is currently a Professor at the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais, Brazil.


Pedro Daniel, PhD
Pedro specialized in Computer Science, Robotics, and Automation. Originally a computer scientist, he expanded into robotics while a visiting student at “La Sapienza” in Rome. He added systems control to his belt while pursuing his Master of Science and PhD degree at the Aeronautical Institute of Technology. He has taken on challenges in a few different industries in a variety of technical roles, acquiring a broad view of processes and projects. His professional approach is built on satisfaction, transparency, ethics, clear communication, and gentleness, seeking to lift the burdens from his clients. Pedro welcomes all demands, eager to discuss potential collaborations or answer questions.
